Warren County Land and Farms

Farms and land in Warren County are attractive to investors, developers, homebuyers and sportsmen due to its low wages, access to major transportation corridors including I-85 and rural living. Warren County land is bordered by the Virginia counties of Brunswick and Mecklenburg and North Carolina counties of Northhampton, Halifax, Franklin and Nash. Located in the Piedmont, the 444-square-mile county is home to 20,000 residents. Farming and manufacturing are major contributors to the local economy. Farmland covers 61,000 acres, and livestock and poultry are 69% of its agricultural sales. Forty-eight percent of the farmland is for crops, and 29% remains in woodlands. Among its top private employers are Glen Raven Inc., Smoke House Lumber Company, Elbert Crate & Box Co. and Cast Stone Systems Inc. Lake Gaston and Kerr Lake draw boaters, fishermen, hikers and campers. Other attractions include Hamme’s Mill and Plummer Hook and Ladder, which celebrates the history of Warren County’s first fire department, created by African Americans. Warren County Schools provides K-12 public education. Vance-Granville Community College - Warren County Campus offers higher learning opportunities.
